# How often should I maintain my garage door?

Simple, regular maintenance considerably extends the life of your door.

**Good habits:**

* Lubricate the door rails, rollers, hinges, cables, springs and all moving parts. Note: nothing inside the opener should be lubricated. * Visually inspect the cables and springs — look for any signs of wear, rust or deformation.
* Check that the door is properly balanced.
