# My door squeaks or makes noise: what should I do?

A noisy garage door most often has a simple cause that's easy to fix.
### 🔊 The most common causes
* **Lack of lubrication** — on the rails, rollers and hinges; this is the most common cause and the easiest to fix.
* **Worn or misshapen rollers** — a damaged bearing produces a repeated noise as each roller passes.
* **Loose fixings** — poorly fixed rails, brackets or hinges can vibrate and squeak.
* **Spring lacking grease** — a dry torsion spring can squeak on every cycle.
