# What is a garage door window, and how do I replace it?

A window is the glazed part that lets light into the garage. Here's how to identify yours.
A window is a glazed panel built into one or more panels of your garage door, to let light through.

### What to measure
* The **width** and **height** of the window (outer frame dimensions)
* The **thickness** of the panel it's built into
* The **shape**: rectangular, oval, round, barred or not

**And then?** Send us the dimensions and a photo of your window (fitted, if possible): we'll suggest the matching reference.
