My door squeaks or makes noise: what should I do?

A noisy garage door most often has a simple cause that's easy to fix.

🔊 The most common causes

  • Lack of lubrication — on the rails, rollers and hinges; this is the most common cause and the easiest to fix.
  • Worn or misshapen rollers — a damaged bearing produces a repeated noise as each roller passes.
  • Loose fixings — poorly fixed rails, brackets or hinges can vibrate and squeak.
  • Spring lacking grease — a dry torsion spring can squeak on every cycle.

👉 And then? Does the noise persist after lubricating? Tell us when it happens (opening, closing, at a specific spot): we'll identify the part responsible.

💡 The simple habit: a lubricant suited to garage doors (not a thick grease that traps dust) on rails, rollers and hinges solves most noise issues.
